Our top 8 swinger clubs in Milan (tip: Italians call them club privé)

Our top picks for a hedonistic visit to Milan

Milan is one of the largest and most vibrant of Italian cities. Around the world it is known as the Italian capital of design and fashion and it is generally considered a great destination for all those looking for outstanding architecture, good food, culture and – of course – high-quality (swinglifestyle) fun!
The swinging scene in Milan is growing. Almost each time we have visited Milan over the past several years, we would discover a new club or, as they are known in Italy – Club Privé.

Swinger clubs in Italy come in many guises and all of them are a combination of at least two of the following: wellness/spa, disco, restaurant, bar, and – unavoidably – privé areas which are designated for, well, sex and play.

Getting there

A convenient thing about Milan is that most clubs, although typically not in the city centre, can be accessed by public transport, which can sometimes be even faster than by car. The information we provide here on the time to reach the club will be most useful, nevertheless, if your chosen mode of transport is – car.

Firstly, some basic info about Italian swinger clubs

Before we proceed, a couple of general – yet very important – bits of info.

Before you start heading to a club, make sure to check their website thoroughly and perhaps even giving them a call asking about anything which interests you before you start heading to the place. The reason is that, for some reason, Italian swinger clubs tend to not reveal much information on their websites (or some even to keep them basically updated), especially when it comes to the price, entry requirements, availability of parking, or hygiene standards (here, Le Maison de l’Amour stands out as one of few which do have a page dedicated to “pulizia e igiene”).

They are also not very keen on having their websites also in English, so if you are not sure about how far you can get with your Italian, you may want to use Google translate or similar services. It probably won’t help you much with a phone call, but learning some essential words and phrases in Italian may not be such a bad idea after all.

Before you start heading to a club, make sure to check their website thoroughly and perhaps even giving them a call asking about anything which interests you before you start heading to the place.

Going solo or as a couple?

All clubs we list here welcome both couples and singles, although not every day and it may depend on either the day of the week or the event they organize. Also, all of them have a bar and most of them also offer buffet or served food, and this can depend on the night too and will be reflected in the price, so make sure to check beforehand.

So, here is our own list of clubs we prefer and would recommend to anyone visiting Milan and looking for a little bit beyond Piazza del Duomo, Corso Vittorio Emanuele and pizza. It’s not the list of all clubs in Milan, but rather the list of clubs we believe to pass the basic quality threshold.

So, here are our top picks for Milan

Capriccio Club Prive

Capriccio is one of the best known Milan lifestyle clubs in Italy and also internationally. It has been around for more than three decades and it’s a popular place across age groups. It’s conveniently located only about 15 minutes’ drive from the city centre and it’s definitely worth the visit. Capriccio is also not a big club, so you may want to come early enough.

The club has a very informative and regularly updated website, with a well-kept page in English, so make sure you check this out.

Harem Club Prive

Harem Club prides itself to be the largest libertine club in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. It’s not impossible – the club’s area is one of the largest we have been in. The club is located in an industrial area, about half an hour drive north-east from downtown Milan.

It’s great for relaxing and but also for dancing and mingling (New Paradise Club is now part of the Harem family of clubs). The facilities are properly maintained and besides the large indoor area, there is also a naturist garden for the summer months.

La Maison de l’Amour Milano

La Maison de l’Amour is located about 40 minutes’ drive from central Milan, in the town of Gessate. If you are into something more in the direction of wellness and mingling with people in robes and slippers, then La Maison de l’Amour could be the place for you. It’s modern, chic and tastefully designed.

Fermento

Fermento is located south-east of Milan, about 40 minutes’ drive from the city centre. Stretching over 1500 m², the club welcomes you with a sizeable dancefloor, bar and restaurant area, many private rooms, and, during warm months – a naturist garden in the outdoor area, including a pool and whirlpool.

Obidis Club Prive

Not more than 15-20 from downtown Milano by car (located behind the Milano Centrale – Milan Central Railway Station), Obidis is one of the older clubs in the city. A couple of years ago, it changed the owner and this has somewhat improved the overall quality of the club. The club claims to be the most visited and the most copied one, but we suggest you take this with a grain of salt.

Fashion Club

Fashion club is probably better known as a place for getting naughty and wild on the dancefloor, than as a typical Italian club privé. It’s not far from Milan city centre – only about 20 minutes by car – and if you are a serial swinger club hopper, you don’t want to miss it! The music is great, there is also a restaurant, and they often have very nice shows to spice things up.

Sauna Milano 1, 2, 3

Indeed – it’s three saunas in and around Milano which belong to the same “chain.” One (Sauna Milano 1) is located east from the city centre (half an hour drive), in Lambrate, another (Sauna Milano 2) to the north from the city – just off the southern edge of the Balossa Park (Parco della Balossa), and the third one (Sauna Milano 3) is about 25 minutes south-east from Milan’s downtown area.

The fact that there are four websites can be confusing, but it also makes sense as the three saunas are quite different. Opening hours are different, size, prices, facilities, as well as the quality of the ambience and, of course, of overall infrastructure.

Sauna Milano 2 would be our recommendation – it’s sufficiently large, well-kept and an excellent choice for a relaxing afternoon.

La Divina Club Privé

Located in the area of the Milan Central Station, La Divina Club Prive has been around for almost two decades now and it’s one of the better known swinger clubs in Milan. It changed management about three years ago, although we can’t really tell whether this has brought some actual improvements when it comes to the quality of the club and the atmosphere.
